Police investigating two armed robberies in Sydney’s south have released a CCTV image of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

About 1pm on Friday 29 March 2013, a man armed with a knife entered a pizza shop on the Princes Highway, Rockdale, and jumped the counter.
The man demanded money from staff before allegedly stabbing a 29-year-old male employee in the neck with a knife.
The offender then fled the store with no proceeds.
Police and ambulance paramedics attended and the victim was taken to St George Hospital where he is in a stable condition.
In the second incident, a man entered a hotel on Belgrave Street, Kogarah, about 12:10 pm on Tuesday 2 April 2013.

The man threatened a 22-year-old female staff member with a meat cleaver before taking an amount of money from a cash register.

He left the premises via a side entrance on Post Office Lane.

Police from St George Local Area Command are investigating both incidents and believe they are linked.

Detectives have today released a CCTV image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man depicted in the image is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 178cm tall, aged 25 to 30, with sandy-coloured hair and a slim build. In the picture, the man is wearing a black t-shirt, grey hooded vest, dark grey tracksuit pants and black coloured Dunlop-volley style shoes.
