Detectives are searching for two bandits who subdued their victims with capsicum spray during an armed robbery in Meadow Heights last Thursday. Clad in balaclavas and bandanas, the duo held up a milk bar on Nicholson Street around 8.45pm. While one of the robbers stood watch at the door, the other confronted the female shop attendants, brandishing a knife and demanding cash. When the 22-year-old staff member produced a baseball bat to defend herself, the robber sprayed both women with what appeared to be capsicum spray. He then emptied the till and both men fled the scene on foot. Fawkner Embona Taskforce detectives are investigating the incident and have released CCTV images of the men they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation. The first man police wish to speak to is described as being around 177cm tall with a medium build. He was wearing a light blue jumper, blue tracksuit pants, a black balaclava and was carrying a black sports bag at the time of the incident. The second man police wish to speak to is perceived as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his early 20s and around 173cm tall with an average build. He was wearing a striped hooded top, a black beanie and had a yellow bandana covering his face at the time of the incident.
