Detectives from Operation Counteract this morning arrested a man over the armed robbery of the Golden Grove Tavern on 18 March 2013.

Police will allege the man entered the premises on Golden Grove Road, Surrey Downs, armed with a shotgun, threatened staff and made off with cash.

The suspect fled in a white Mitsubishi station wagon that was recovered by police a short time later.  No one was injured during the robbery.

The 40-year-old Golden Grove man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.  He was refused police bail and will appear in the Holden Hill Magistrates Court on Monday 8 April.
