A man has been charged following an alleged ‘glassing’ incident at a hotel at Clovelly overnight.

About 9pm yesterday (Saturday 13 April 2013), a 23-year-old man and 34-year-old man become involved in an argument inside a hotel on Clovelly Road.

It is alleged that during the argument the older man smashed two schooner glasses on the other mans face before fleeing the premises.

Police from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command attended and arrested the man a short distance away.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The man was given strict bail conditions to appear at Waverley Local Court on 8 May 2013.

The 23-year-old was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital where he is receiving treatment for lacerations to his face.
