Police are investigating two break and enters and a ram raid that occurred in the Sydney CBD and southern suburbs overnight.

About 1.50am (Wednesday 17 April 2013), a white vehicle reversed into the glass façade of a convenience store on Phillip Street, Sydney.

A male passenger then got out of the vehicle and attempted to move an ATM from the front of the store.

After being unsuccessful, the man jumped the counter of the store and removed a cash register containing an amount of cash, before returning to the vehicle.

The car was last seen heading east on St James Road. Police from The Rocks Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

About 2.35am the same morning, a white vehicle, described as a Mercedes AMG sedan, attended a hotel on Botany Road, Botany.

Two occupants got out of the vehicle and used sledgehammers to smash the glass doors of the premises.

A resident of the premises turned a light on which disturbed the offenders, and they fled the scene.
A short time later, the car attended a golf club a short distance away and smashed the glass front doors and entered the premises.

It is unclear if they stole anything before they fled the scene a short time later.

Responding police from Botany Bay Local Area Command sighted the vehicle travelling south on Botany Road.

A short pursuit took place but the vehicle was lost after travelling at high speed.

Police are investigating the possibility these incidents are linked.
