Police have charged a man in relation to the armed robbery of a service station at Runaway Bay on April 18, 2013.

It is alleged a man entered the Oxley Drive premises and made demands for money from the service station employee.

While allegedly making threats he indicated he had a weapon concealed under his clothing although no weapon was actually sighted.

During the robbery it is also alleged the man set a small fire on the counter using a liquid.

A 20-year-old Coombabah man has been charged with armed robbery.

He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.
