Police are appealing for information following the armed robbery of a petrol station at Smithfield last night.
About 8:15pm, Wednesday 1 May 2013, a man was working in the petrol station on The Horsley Drive when an armed man entered the store.
He jumped the counter and threatened the attendant with a knife before being handed a sum of cash. The man also stole an amount of cigarettes before fleeing the premises.
Fairfield police were later notified about the robbery and are now investigating the incident. They are looking for a man who has been described as having a medium build.
He was wearing a black cap, a white cloth across his face, a blue hooded jumper, long black pants and white shoes.
