Police are investigating the armed robbery of a takeaway sandwich store at Auburn last night.
About 7.40pm, Friday 3 May 2013, a man entered the store on Parramatta Road and opened a side door before walking behind the counter.
He approached a male staff member who was standing near the cash register and threatened him with a knife while demanding money.
The man was handed a sum of cash and fled the store on foot. He was last seen running through a car park and across Parramatta Road.
No-one was injured in the robbery and police were subsequently contacted.
Officers from Flemington Local Area Command attended the scene and conducted a search of the surrounding area with the assistance of the Dog Squad, but were unable to locate the armed man.
A crime scene was established at the premises and examined by specialist forensic officers.
Investigators are now looking for a man who has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, 20 to 30 years old, 180cm tall and wearing a navy blue and fluorescent yellow hooded jacket. He also had his face covered with a black scarf.
