Police are seeking the assistance of the public for information after a teenager held up a service station with a knife in the Central Hunter.

About 8.30pm, (Sunday 6 May, 2013), a young male entered a service station on New England Highway, South Maitland and approached the console operator. The teen produced a knife and demanded money.

No cash was handed over and the teen then demanded cigarettes.

The youth left and ran towards the rear of the service station.

As a result of the incident no one was injured.

The youth is described as being aged in his early teens, caucasian appearance with black curly hair. He was wearing dark pants, a white t-shirt with his face covered.
