Detectives from the Regional Investigations Unit are seeking the public’s assistance with their investigation into two armed robberies which they believe are linked. About 6.50pm on Monday 22 October 2012, a staff member was closing a Kingsley liquor store when he noticed a man standing outside acting suspiciously. The man covered his face with a balaclava before entering the store on Creaney Drive. He partially opened his jacket to reveal the handle of a firearm, possibly a shotgun and demanded money. The staff member complied with the man’s request and he left the store with a quantity of cash. About 10.30am on Tuesday 23 October, a man entered a fast food restaurant on Canning Highway, Palmyra. He threatened staff with a firearm and was given a sum of cash before leaving the store on foot. The man is described as fair skinned; about 173cm tall, of solid build, with blue eyes and brown facial hair that is greying. At the time of the offence he was wearing a dark jacket with a high visibility vest over the top, dark pants and black/white sneakers. He also wore a black balaclava that may have been used as a beanie.
