Four men have been arrested following nine alleged armed robberies in the Bayside and Mornington Peninsula areas over the past week. A police car was patrolling the Mornington area after a reported armed robbery at a service station late last night when he came across an overturned car on Racecourse Road shortly after 11.30pm. Four men were arrested at the scene and taken to hospital for treatment. Three Bendigo men, aged 18, 19 and 20, were later discharged from hospital and are currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries. A 23-year-old Mornington man remains under police guard at the Frankston Hospital. The arrests relate to alleged armed robberies at the following locations: – Thursday 2 May at a service station at the intersection of Beach and Bridge streets Hampton about 11.30pm – Thursday 2 May at a service station on Nepean Highway Mornington at 11.20pm – Thursday 2 May at a service station at the corner of Nepean Highway and Warrigal Road Mentone at 10.08pm – Thursday 2 May at a convenience store on Highett Road Hampton at 12.20am – Thursday 2 May at a service station on the corner of Park and Charman roads at 12.48am – Thursday 2 May at a service station on Balcombe Road Mentone at 12.53am – Monday 29 April at a service station on Moorooduc Highway Mornington just before 7.30pm – Tuesday 30 April at a service station on Moorooduc Highway Moorooduc at 7.20pm – Tuesday 30 April at a service station on Moorooduc Highway Baxter just before 10pm Police are also investigating two attempted armed robberies at service stations in Chelsea and Mornington overnight.
