Police have renewed their appeal for public assistance as they continue their inquiries into an armed robbery at a hair salon in Mount Hutton last month.

Investigators believe a man armed with a knife entered the business on Wilsons Road Mount Hutton, about 5.00pm on Friday, 26 April, 2013.

The man demanded staff hand over cash before fleeing from the premises on a pushbike. He was last seen riding onto Ada Street.

Police from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command attended the scene establishing a crime scene which was examined by specialist forensics officers.

Detectives have renewed their appeal for public assistance as they continue their inquiries into the incident.

An image of a man they believe might be able to assist their investigation has been released and investigators have urged anyone with information to come forward.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance with an olive complexion and aged in his late 40’s to early 50’s.

He was approximately 183cm tall with a thin build and unshaven.
