Police have charged a teenager after he allegedly robbed a liquor store in Sydney’s south.

About 1.50pm yesterday (Tuesday 14 May 2013), a 17-year-old boy and a female entered a liquor store on Kiora Road, Miranda.

At some point during the visit, the pair became involved in an argument with staff and left the store empty-handed.

Police will allege that at 2.20pm the same day (Tuesday 15 May 2013), the 17-year-old boy returned to the store and threatened staff with a knife, before leaving the store with a bottle of alcohol.

Police were called to the location and began a patrol of the area.

A short time later, patrolling police located the alleged offender walking along Karimbla Road, Miranda.

The teen was arrested and taken to Miranda Police Station.

He was charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon.

The teen, from Kirrawee, was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Children’s Court today (Wednesday 15 May 2013).
