Police have established a crime scene following a bank robbery in Sydney’s CBD this morning.
About 11.15am (Friday 13 September 2013) a stolen black 4WD crashed into an ATM and surrounding wall outside of a bank on Kent Street, causing it to collapse.
Three men armed with sledgehammers then entered the bank through the opening and took money from the tellers.
They then made off in a blue Subaru sedan which was waiting outside with a driver.
No one was injured in the incident, however some employees were treated by Ambulance Paramedics for shock.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to come forward.
ACT Policing is investigating two north side ram raids which occurred last night (Sunday 21 July).
About 10.30pm thieves reversed a car into the United Petrol Station in Amaroo in what is believed to be an unsuccessful attempt to steal an ATM.
Then at about 11.40pm police were notified by the security of Yowani Country Club of damage to the front entrance of the club. CCTV footage showed a dark coloured station wagon reverse several times into the front doors. A person then briefly approach the ATM, turned and got back in the car and drove away.
Police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with their investigations into a stealing incident, and the wilful damage of a Belmont service station this morning.
Around 1.40am two men attended a London Road service station and, after filling the car with petrol, one man entered the business.
The store attendant de-activated the automatic doors when the man attempted to leave without paying for a quantity of petrol and goods.
A second man then drove the car into the front doors causing substantial damage.
The two men were last seen in a white Mitsubishi utility with Queensland registration 406MTO.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
One man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, with a slim build, 20 to 30 years of age, black hair and a black beard. He was wearing shorts, joggers and a jacket.
The second man is described as Caucasian in appearance and was wearing a black jumper.
Police investigations are continuing.
ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a ram raid that occurred in Belconnen early this morning (Monday, July 15) in which a cafe was rammed by a vehicle and entry gained to the premises. At around 12:45am two men driving a late model white station wagon were seen at the Black Pepper Café on Beissel Street Belconnen.
Police arrived a short time later to find the glass door at the side of the premises smashed. It is believed they used the vehicle to pull the door out of the frame.
The two males then entered the premises, removed an automatic teller machine located just inside the door and fled the location.
Police have seized a blue utility allegedly involved in number of ‘ram raids’ in Alice Springs over the weekend.
“These two males are arrest targets allegedly involved in this violent offending.
“The alleged offenders are believed to be driving a maroon coloured Mitsubishi Magna sedan with white ‘GT’ style striping with NT registration CA 82 EU.”
Police are looking for three people following an incident at a bottle shop in Springwood this morning.
At 5.25am, a car was driven into the front glass panels of the Magellan Road business at a shopping centre, causing extensive damage to the shop front and door.
The trio did not gain entry to the store and it appears that property was not stolen.
It is believed that one person was armed with a metal bar.
Police are looking into the possibility that this incident is linked to a break and enter at an Underwood hotel, and a break-in at a Sunnybank bottle shop which both occurred this morning.
Police have charged two teenagers in relation to a ram raid that occurred in Grafton earlier this week.
About 11.20pm on Monday 10 June 2013, a stolen silver-coloured Hyundai Excel was used to smash through the front of a consumer-electronics shop on Prince Street.
Mobile phones and a set of headphones were stolen from the premises.
Grafton Police have been investigating the incident and yesterday (Tuesday 11 June 2013) executed a search warrant on a room in a Prince Street motel.
During the search, officers seized items they will allege were stolen from the shop.
Police arrested two 16-year-old boys, both from Moree, at the premises and took them to Grafton Police Station.
One was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence in company; be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner; and breach of bail.
He appeared in Grafton Children’s Court today (Wednesday 12 June 2013), where he was refused bail to face the same court on 15 July 2013.
The second youth was charged with receive stolen property. He appeared Grafton Children’s Court today (Wednesday 12 June 2013), where he was refused bail to face Moree Children’s Court on 26 June 2013.
Police are investigating three separate break and enters in the Logan area overnight.
The first reported incident was at a takeaway food store at Station Road, Bethania where it appears a vehicle was used to gain entry to the shop around 4.30am.
Extensive damage was caused to a metal bollard, roller door, metal bars and glass panels.
A convenience store at Queens Road, Slacks Creek had a full length glass window apparently damaged by a vehicle.
It is unknown what property may have been taken at this time.
The third incident was at an auto parts store on the Mount Lindesay Highway at Browns Plains where initial investigations suggest a vehicle may have been used to push open a roller door some time after 5.30am.
A cash register was taken but was left outside the business.
At this time there is no evidence to suggest that these matters may be linked however investigations are continuing.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious around any of these businesses to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Police are investigating two break and enters that occurred earlier this morning in Westcourt and Woree.
Around 12.20am, a stolen four wheel drive was driven into a bottle shop on Aumuller Street, Westcourt.
The group of four men in the vehicle were disturbed and fled the scene without any property.
At 12.40am, the vehicle was then driven into another bottle shop in Charlotte Close, Worree.
The group has taken a quantity of alcohol and cigarettes before leaving in the vehicle.
The vehicle was located abandoned a short time later in Manuda.
The four men are all described as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance and were driving a black Ford Territory.
Police investigations are continuing.
Police have charged two males in relation to ram raids which occurred in Sydney’s southwest earlier this week.
About 2am on Tuesday 14 May, a white Peugeot was used to smash through the front of a café and clothing store on Walder Road in Hammondville.
Money, jewellery and clothing were stolen.
Police from Liverpool Local Area Command’s Anti-Theft Unit have been investigating the incident and today executed a search warrant on a residence on Weston Street in Fairfield and one on Railway Terrace in Merrylands.
Officers arrested two males, aged 18 and 16.
The youth has been charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter, assault police and resisting arrest.
The man was charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter.
The youth will appear at Campbelltown Children’s Court today while the man has been granted conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on 11 June.
