A man has been charged following an armed robbery at a restaurant in Coffs Harbour at the weekend.
About 7.40pm (Saturday 20 January 2018), police will allege a man entered the restaurant on Grafton Street and threatened a female employee with a knife.
It will be alleged the knife had been stolen from a nearby supermarket.
The man allegedly stole cash from the restaurant register and fled the scene.
Police from Coffs Clarence Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on nearby Market Street and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.
He was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon, shoplifting and breach of bail.
The man was refused bail and appeared before Coffs Harbour Local Court yesterday (Sunday 21 January 2018) where he was refused bail.
He is due to appear before the same court today (Monday 22 January 2018).
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a takeaway food store in Ferny Grove last night.
Around 10.25pm a man entered the business on McGinn Road armed with a large knife and made threats towards a 35-year-old female employee, demanding money.
The employee complied and the man fled the store with a sum of cash.
No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 182cm tall with a proportionate build and was wearing a light grey hooded jumper, dark shorts, blue sunglasses and sneakers.

Strike Force Tintaldra was established by detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad to investigate a series of five armed robberies during a seven-week period, which are believed to be linked.
The first incident occurred about 11.45pm on Monday 20 November 2017, at a restaurant on Canley Vale Road, Canley Vale. A man armed with a firearm entered, threatened an employee and obtained cash before leaving the area.
About 1.25am on Saturday 9 December 2017, a man armed with a firearm entered a pizza store on Woodville Road, Fairfield East. The man threatened four employees, before stealing cash and leaving. One of the employees was punched in the chest during the incident.
About 12.25am on Thursday 14 December 2017, a man armed with a firearm entered a pizza store on The Boulevard, Strathfield. The armed man threatened a number of employees and stole cash. He fled on foot.
About 11.30pm on Sunday 17 December 2017, as staff members were closing a pizza store on Concord Road, North Strathfield, a man armed with a firearm entered the store. The man threatened the employees, before stealing cash and leaving on foot.
The fifth incident was reported after a man working at a pizza restaurant was shot about 1.30am yesterday (Sunday 7 January 2018). Police have been told the 21-year-old man was working at the fast food outlet on Dunmore Street, Wentworthville, when a man armed with a gun entered and demanded cash. Following a confrontation, the armed man ran from the area.
As their inquiries continue, Strike Force Tintaldra investigators have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may be able to assist with further inquiries.
The vision depicts the man as being aged in his 20s or 30s with a slim to average build. The image is from the Wentworthville incident.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who may know the man depicted in the vision, or motorists who may have been in the area with dash cam vision relevant to the investigation, to come forward.
Staff at a pizza business in Burdell were forced to the floor by a man weilding a rifle during a robbery last night (Saturday December 16).
The man entered the Main Street store around 10.50pm and demanded the six staff members lay on the ground before he stole a quantity of cash and fled on foot.
The man was seen to enter a dark coloured Commodore sedan parked nearby and driven by a second offender.
No one was physically injured during the incidents and investigations by detectives from the Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch continue.

He fled the scene and was last seen heading east on Correys Avenue on foot.
Police from Burwood Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene which was examined by the Forensic Armed Robbery Unit.
The man has been described as Caucasian appearance, thin build, possibly aged in his 30s, wearing a grey jumper, grey pants, blue hat, blue shoes, and he was armed with a handgun.
Police have charged a 43 year old Claremont man in relation to two robberies committed on Saturday 2 December 2017.
It is alleged that the man entered both Subway Hobart and KFC Derwent Park on that day and threatened staff, making off on foot on each occasion with a quantity of cash.
Police have been actively searching for the man who subsequently presented himself to police where he was interviewed and detained to appear in court on Thursday 7 December 2017.

Police have been told, a man armed with a firearm, has entered the fast food outlet on The Boulevarde, Strathfield just after 12.25am today (Thursday 14 December 2017).
The armed man threatened staff members before fleeing with a sum of cash.
No employees were injured during the robbery.
Police were alerted and officers from Flemington Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was forensically examined.
An investigation into the incident is underway and police are appealing for public assistance to identify and locate those involved.
Inquiries continue.
Police are investigating the armed robbery of a pizza store in Earlville overnight.
At 10.20pm, two men, one armed with a gun, entered the Mulgrave Road shop and demanded cash from the three employees.
The pair left the business on foot with a sum of cash and was last seen on Balaclava Road.
No-one was physically injured.
One man is described as being Indigenous in appearance and 20 years of age.
The second man is described as being Pacific Islander in appearance, aged between 20 and 30 years, and was wearing a shirt over his head and face.
Investigations are continuing.
