A 21 year old Glenorchy man has been charged over three separate incidents at Woolworths stores in Hobart.

On Sunday 2 September between 17:00hrs and 18:30hrs, police attended three separate incidents at Woolworths stores in the Hobart Division.

The man was described as:

  • Mid 20s
  • Pale complexion with dark hair
  • Wearing red top, black tracksuit pants with white stripes down the side, white shoes and a black cap.

The man was interviewed and charged with the robbery, assault and stealing in relation to the incidents.

 

Hobart CIB is investigating two robberies of Woolworths stores in Hobart earlier this evening.

The incidents occurred at Woolworths stores in Argyle Street and Campbell Street Hobart, between 5:00pm and 5.45pm this evening. Both incidents are believed to be linked, with the suspect also believed to have stolen property from Woolworths Sandy Bay earlier in the evening.

Police allege that a man in his 20s entered each store, stole a number of grocery items, and became aggressive towards staff.

The male suspect is described as:

  • Mid 20s
  • Pale complexion with dark hair
  • Wearing red top, black tracksuit pants with white stripes down the side, white shoes and a black cap.

The suspect is believed to have been travelling in a blue Hyundai Excel registration number E67XI, and was in company of a female.

No one was injured and no weapon was used during the incidents, and police are treating the matters as isolated.

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a supermarket store at Morayfield yesterday evening.

At about 10pm, a man entered the store on Morayfield Road armed with a knife and demanded money and tobacco products from staff.

The man fled the store a short time later with a sum of cash.

The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 185cms tall with a solid build.

He was wearing a long-sleeved flannelette shirt with a grey t-shirt underneath, black shorts, thongs, grey beanie and a red coloured balaclava covering his face.

No persons were injured during the incident.

Investigations are continuing.

An investigation has commenced following the robbery of a supermarket near Narooma in the state’s south yesterday.

Shortly before 6pm (Monday 20 August 2018), a man entered a supermarket on Mort Street, Dalmeny, armed with a knife.

He threatened a male staff member and demanded money and cigarettes.

The employee complied and handed the man cash and cigarettes before he ran from the store.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Officers from South Coast Police District were called and have commenced inquiries.

The man is described as being about 185cm tall, aged in his 30s and wearing dark clothing with a balaclava.

Police have charged a boy following investigations into an alleged armed robbery in Varsity Lakes yesterday morning.

It will be alleged at 6.50am a teenage boy armed with a hammer, entered the Varsity Parade grocery store and threatened staff.

He allegedly stole a quantity of cigarettes before leaving the store on foot.

No-one was physically injured during the incident.

A 16-year-old Mudgeeraba boy has been charges with one count of armed robbery.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Varsity Lakes supermarket earlier today.

At 6.50am, a male, armed with a hammer, entered the Varsity Parade grocery shop and threatened staff.

The male stole a quantity of cigarettes before leaving the store on foot onto Varsity Parade.

No-one was physically injured.

Investigations are continuing.

A woman has been arrested over a robbery in Adelaide last week.

Police will allege that about 2.45pm on Thursday 12 July, a woman stole items from a supermarket on Hutt Street. When she was confronted by staff members, she assaulted a male employee and then ran away.

Further investigations by Eastern District Criminal Investigation Branch detectives led to today’s arrest of an 18-year-old Brooklyn Park woman.

She was charged with aggravated robbery and was refused bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Police are investigating after an armed robbery at a grocery store in Quakers Hill yesterday.

About 7.30pm (Wednesday 18 July 2018), two men, armed with knives, entered the store on Pye Road, and threatened a 23-year-old male attendant.

The pair left with cash and cigarettes. No one was physically injured as a result.

Officers from Quakers Hills Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Police would like to speak to two men described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 185cm tall, and of solid build.

The first man was last seen wearing a black jumper with white stripes on the sleeves, grey tracksuit pants, white sneakers and pink rubber gloves.

The second man was last seen wearing a black face covering, a dark navy jumper, grey tracksuit pants, white sneakers and pink rubber gloves.

Cash and cigarettes were stolen from a Little Mountain supermarket yesterday by a man armed with a knife.

Around 7.50pm on Sunday,July 8 a man entered a Parkland Blvd business and approached an 18-year-old female employee. The man brandished a knife and demanded cash and cigarettes before fleeing on foot.

He is described as Caucasian, approximately 190cms and was wearing a black hooded jumper, sunglasses and black pants.

The employee was not physically injured and police investigations are continuing.

A man has been charged following the armed robbery of a supermarket in Newcastle West overnight.

Just before 1.30am (Wednesday 11 July 2018), a man entered a supermarket on King Street, and allegedly threatened a female employee with a syringe.

He demanded cash and cigarettes before jumping the counter and taking four mobile phones.

The man fled and police were notified.

Just before 3.45am, a man allegedly smashed the front window of a jewellery shop on Kenrick Street, The Junction, before taking several pieces of jewellery.

Officers from Newcastle City Police District attended both incidents and commenced inquiries.

About 5.30am, a 23-year-old man attended Newcastle Police Station and spoke with officers.

He was arrested and charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon and break and enter house etc steal.

The man was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court today (Wednesday 11 July 2018).
