Police have arrested three people in relation to the armed robbery at a pharmacy in Geelong yesterday.
A 27-year-old Leopold woman and a 25-year-old Geelong West man have been charged with one count of armed robbery and have been remanded.
A 32-year-old Whittington man remains under police guard in hospital and is yet to be interviewed.
A man is in custody following an investigation into a string of armed robberies and aggravated burglaries over the past month.
Members from the Victoria Police Canine Unit arrested the 27-year-old man in Black Street Reservoir just before 10am, following a pursuit.
Investigators will speak to the man in relation to 13 armed robberies and aggravated burglaries allegedly committed across Melbourne over the past 10 days.
The man, believed to be of no fixed address, was taken to The Alfred hospital, where he is currently under police guard while being treated for minor injuries.
Police have also charged three women following a pursuit in Bundoora yesterday, including a 21-year-old Mildura woman who was charged with assault, theft, aggravated burglary and armed robbery.
Meanwhile two 20-year-old Reservoir women were charged with theft and drug related matters.
Police arrested 14 youths overnight in relation to seven separate robberies around the CBD.
Police have been told the crime spree started at 9.30pm when a man walking south on Lansdowne St, Melbourne East, was followed by approximately 5 youths. These youths are then alleged to have approached the victim, a 29-year-old man from Mitcham, from behind, kicking and punching him.
Another 15 males are then alleged to have attended this scene, where a further assault is alleged to have occurred, before the victim’s phone, wallet and bag were stolen. The bag and wallet were returned to the victim after money is alleged to have been removed.
The victim received lumps, bruising and lacerations and was conveyed to the St. Vincents Hospital for treatment.
The second incident occurred at 10.55pm in Grattan St, Carlton, where a 25-year-old man from Carlton was assaulted by up to six youths, it is alleged that demands for money were made, however the offenders have only taken food.
The following three incidents are alleged to have occurred at around 11pm in separate locations:
A 20-year-old Box Hill man was approached by six youths near the intersection of Pelham and Barry Streets, Carlton. One of the youths is alleged to have wrenched the victim’s mobile phone from his hand, causing minor injuries. The victim then ran from the scene.
The fourth victim, a 26-year-old man from West Melbourne was walking through the car park near William Street, when it is alleged he was approached by a group of five to six youths, it is alleged that he was assaulted by a number of the youths, before he was able to get up and run away prior to anything being stolen.
The fifth victim, a 22-year-old man from Parkville was approached by six youths at the tram stop outside 604 Swanston Street, Carlton. It is alleged the youths assaulted the man before stealing his mobile phone and money.
The sixth incident occurred at 12.30am on the bike path on the south side of the Yarra River, just east of Princes Bridge. It is alleged that five or six youths approached the victims, two 25-year-old men from Caulfield, and assaulted them before stealing a mobile phone and one of the victim’s bikes.
The last incident occurred at 12.50am on the bike path 100 metres south of Batman Avenue. The victim, a 32-year-old man from South Yarra, was riding his bike west when it is alleged he was pushed from the bike and assaulted by a youth before a further group of seven to eight youths appeared and are alleged to have made demands for his phone. The victim ran from the group, leaving his bike and laptop on the path, which were then stolen.
Police were made aware of the incidents as they unfolded and began a thorough search of the areas.
At 11.50pm five youths were arrested at the Boost Juice bar on Swanston Street.
At approximately 12.55am four more youths were arrested in Degraves Street, and a short time later at 1.10am a further three were arrested in Manchester Lane.
Two youths were also arrested in the foyer of the Melbourne West Police Station at 2am.
All of the youths were male and were interviewed by police in relation to robbery and have been released pending summons.
All of those arrested are alleged to be of African appearance and are aged between 14 and 18 years of age.
Those arrested were from Keilor Downs, St Albans, Sunshine, Kensington, Melton, Endeavour Hills and North Melbourne.
Police are appealing for public information following an armed robbery in Brunswick last night.
Investigators have been told that two masked men entered a gaming venue at the corner of Sydney Road and Barkley Street around 11.20pm.
It’s believed one of the men, armed with a black firearm, confronted the cashier at the front counter and made demands for cash.
The cashier handed over money before the bandit demanded more money and jumped the counter ransacking the office area.
Both men then fled the scene with a substantial amount of money, and were last seen running west along Barkley Street.
The offenders are both described as being of Middle Eastern appearance, aged in their early 20’s, approximately 170cm tall and of medium build.
The man armed with the firearm was wearing a dark top, dark pants and gloves with a white towel wrapped around his head.
The second offender was wearing a dark hooded top with a motif on the front, dark pants and white runners with gloves and black material wrapped around his head.
Police are appealing for public information following an armed robbery in Altona Meadows on Friday.
Investigators have been told that an unknown woman entered a supermarket on Alma Ave around 9pm.
Armed with a knife, the woman confronted the store attendant and made demands for cash.
A struggle ensued and the attendant received defensive wounds to his hand.
The 56-year-old attendant wrestled the woman to the entrance of the supermarket, where she fled the scene on foot and was last seen heading in a northerly direction along Roseberry Ave.
Detectives from the Altona North Embona Taskforce are investigating and have released CCTV footage of the incident in a bid to identify the woman involved.
The woman police wish to speak to is described as being Caucasian, aged in her mid 30s, between 165-170cm with a solid build.
She was wearing a light blue hooded top and black legging pants at the time of the incident.
Police are appealing for assistance from the public following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Wyndham Vale early this morning.
Investigators have been told that a man entered the Ballan Road store about 12.15am and threatened the lone attendant with a knife.
The attendant was force to hand over cigarettes and cash before the offender left the store and ran off.
The offender has been described as Caucasian, 175 centimetres tall, slim build and wearing all dark clothing.
Fortunately nobody was injured during the robbery.

Investigators have been told that just before 8pm a man entered the High Street Road premises and demanded cash and cigarettes from the attendant.
The male offender was allegedly armed with a weapon believed to be a large iron bar.
The offender was given an amount of cash and cigarettes before he left the store and fled along High Street Road.
It is believed he then headed south down Cathies Lane.
The male offender is described as having a solid build, and was wearing a blue hooded jumper and black tracksuit pants with a white stripe along the leg.
He had a handkerchief covering his mouth and nose and was wearing sunglasses at the time of the incident.
Investigators have released images of a man they believe could assist them with their enquiries.
Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Newmarket late yesterday afternoon.
Investigators have been told that around 4:30pm, a woman walking between Newmarket Plaza and Arena Close was grabbed around the neck from behind by an unknown man.
The man allegedly held a knife to the victim’s neck and demanded cash.
The woman gave the man an amount of cash, at which time she noticed a second man appear.
The second man had a short conversation with the victim before both men fled towards Racecourse Road.
Both men are described as being of African appearance and in their mid-to-late teens.
The first offender was wearing a long maroon jacket with a red cap. The second is described as being of medium build, wearing a light coloured, striped top.
Police are investigating a robbery in Bentleigh yesterday morning where a woman in her seventies was dragged and robbed in a suburban laneway.
Around 9.30am the 72-year-old victim was taking money to the bank via a laneway, adjacent to a car park at the rear of the Centre Road shopping strip when she was attacked.
The alleged offender was dressed in a reflective vest and baseball cap and was arranging witches hats and signage in the laneway which police believe may have been stolen.
The man grabbed the bag the woman was carrying and dragged her along the ground until she lost grip of the weekend takings.
He fled east along the laneway, running across Jasper Road and has not been located.
The woman from East Bentleigh suffered bruising and abrasions and was extremely shaken after the incident.
Investigators have released an image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
