Police are appealing for information following a vicious armed robbery at a Brunswick jewellery store in April.

Investigators have been told four men confronted staff in the Sydney Road store on Thursday 14 April just after midday.

It appears the men were posing as customers before they attacked the male and female store attendants, who are husband and wife.

The 49-year-old woman and the 52-year-old man along with their two children aged eight and 12-years, were bound during the robbery.

The children then witnessed a prolonged vicious attack on their parents.

Police have been told the four men ransacked the store before fleeing out the back of the premises into a laneway with a quantity of jewellery and cash.

The injured pair was conveyed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital; the man sustained a fractured skull and underwent surgery on the night of the robbery and the woman sustained head and upper body injuries.

Both remained in hospital for some time for treatment to their injuries.

The children were not physically injured during the incident however were conveyed to the Royal Children’s Hospital for precaution.

Detectives have released images of the men they believe can assist with their enquiries and perceive them to be Sri Lankan in appearance, about 173cm tall and in their late 20s to early 30s.

The first man is described as skinny and clean shaven with short hair. He was wearing black jeans and a black top at the time of the attack.

The second man is described as skinny with a small goatee.

The third man is described as solid, with medium length dark coloured hair, a dark beard and blue shirt.

The fourth man is described as skinny and was wearing a baseball cap.

Police have also released an image of a car believed to be involved in the robbery.

Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at Frankston service station early Sunday morning.

Investigators have been told two male offenders, with what appears to be clothing covering their faces, entered the Cranbourne Road store via the front entrance just after 7am.

One offender approached the counter armed with a knife and made a demand for cash. The second offender remained several paces behind and was armed with what appeared to be a hand gun.

A quick thinking taxi driver yelled out to the store attendant to hit the duress alarm which has caused both offenders to flee the scene on foot empty handed.

Two men were robbed in Chadstone about 9pm last night.

The pair was walking along Margot Street when they were approached by two men believed aged in their 20s.

One man who had a bandage over his arm and produced a knife and demanded money.

At the same time, the other offender punched one victim, a 25-year-old man, in the face.

The man then handed over his bank card to the bandits.

The other victim aged, 47, handed over the keys to his house and car.

The two bandits fled on foot chased by the victims but they escaped. 

The man who was punched in the face did not require medical treatment.

Melbourne detectives have arrested a 24-year-old man as part of their investigation into a stabbing outside Bubble nightclub this morning.

The man, believed to be a resident of Footscray was taken into custody as police gathered evidence in Francis Street earlier.

A 29-year-old Maribyrnong man remains in a critical condition.

Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Fawkner hotel early yesterday morning.

Investigators have been told two balaclava clad men entered the Sydney Road venue via the rear car park and into the gaming area about 1.35am.

The two men armed with firearms threatened staff and demanded money before fleeing with an amount of cash.

The two men then left the hotel in a black, late model Holden Commodore sedan with a rear spoiler.

Detectives have been told the vehicle was last seen travelling south along Sydney Road, past the Camp Road intersection between 1.40-1.45am

Both men are of medium build and were wearing balaclavas and dark clothing.

One is described as approximately 180cms tall whilst the other man was170cms tall.

Police are looking for two men after a restaurant was robbed at knifepoint in Geelong last night.

Police were called to the local establishment on Geringhap Street around 8.40pm after two men fled with a till from the front counter.

It is believed one of the men waited outside whilst his accomplice entered the restaurant armed with a knife.

The alleged offender tried to break open the cash drawer before stealing the whole till.

Both men fled north on foot along Geringhap Street before heading left on Ryrie Street.

The offender armed with the knife is described as approximately 175 cm tall, skinny build, 20 to 22-years-old, wearing light blue denim jeans and a long sleeved shirt. He had sandy hair and was wearing a cloth or similar piece of material across his face.

Almost 20 patrons were also present at the time of the robbery and no one was injured.

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit is appealing for information in relation to a burglary committed at Coburg early this month.

Police believe two middle aged Caucasian men stole an amount of cash and Metlink tickets from a Coburg Newsagency on Sydney Road during business hours on May 12.

Detectives from Dandenong Embona are seeking witnesses to the armed robbery of a fast food restaurant in Cranbourne this afternoon.

Investigators were told a man entered the sandwich restaurant in Frankston-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne just before 4pm.

The man was armed with a metallic object and threatened the attendants behind the counter.

He made demands for cash and fled the restaurant with the money.

The offender is described as Caucasian, 180 centimetres tall with a thin build and short, brown hair.

He was wearing a dark coloured cap, a black, long sleeved top and was covering his face with a white towel.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 38-year-old man was attacked at a St Kilda hotel over the weekend.

Detectives said the man was at a hotel on Fitzroy Street when he was approached and assaulted by another man just after midnight on Sunday morning.

The man was punched several times to the face causing him to fall down, whilst the offender continued to assault him.

It’s alleged the male offender immediately fled the scene with two other women and a man.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, medium build, about 183 cm tall with short dark hair.

He was wearing jeans and a light coloured t shirt.

The injured St Kilda man was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital where he was treated for facial fractures.

Police have released an image of a man that they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.

Police are appealing for witnesses to an armed robbery at a convenience store in Epping this morning.

Investigators have been told four masked men entered the Buch Avenue store shortly after 2am.

The men produced weapons from under their jackets and demanded money from the 23-year-old store attendant.

He handed over cash before the bandits fled the store in Buch Avenue.

No injuries were sustained during the incident.
