At approximately 12.50am this morning (Friday 10^th June 2011) Queenstown police were alerted to two males who had gained entry to the Queenstown Child Care centre. The males fled the scene in a stolen red 2000 model Ford XR6 sedan.

The vehicle was later sighted in Zeehan and the two males are believed responsible for burglaries at 3 businesses in Main Street, Zeehan.

Police located the vehicle on the Murchison Highway past Tullah and it was successfully intercepted with the deployment of road spikes. Police recovered a significant quantity of stolen property from the burgled local businesses in the vehicle.

The two male offenders fled into bushland and a large scale search is currently underway for them.

The two males are described as follows:

– First male approximately 185cm tall, large solid build wearing a dark hooded top

– Second male approximately 175cm, slim build, goatee beard, wearing a dark top.

A large number of police have been deployed to locate the males. The search and rescue helicopter was also deployed and assisted in the search for the two males.
