Detectives from the Organised Crime Investigation Branch – Operation Counteract, continue to investigate a recent series of 11 aggravated robberies committed at hotel gaming rooms in Norwood, Prospect and West Lakes Shore, during late February and early March 2011.
A 19 year old man of no fixed address was arrested on 23 June 2011 and charged with aggravated robbery at the Reepham Hotel on 26 February 2011.
The man was also charged with illegal use of motor vehicle offences involving vehicles stolen and used to commit the robberies.
The man was already in custody and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 23 June 2011.
He has been remanded in custody to again appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on a date to be fixed in July 2011.
Acting Officer in Charge of SAPOL’s Organised Crime Investigation Branch, Detective Inspector Philip Newitt said, “The investigation into this series of offences is continuing and police are not ruling out further apprehensions.”
