Police investigating tonight’s armed robbery of a Beenleigh video store and the theft of alcohol from a Beenleigh liquor store this afternoon believe the same man may be responsible.

Around 5pm a men entered a George Street liquor store, collected several bottles of alcohol from the shelves before fleeing out the front door.

Shortly after 7pm a man armed with a knife robbed a City Road video store. The man approached a 30-year-old male store attendant and demanded money from the till. He fled on foot with a sum of cash.

No one was injured during these incidents and police investigations are continuing.

The man is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, aged between 20 and 30, approximately 155 to 170 cms tall with a proportionate build. He was wearing a light coloured baseball cap, blue shirt and dark coloured board shorts.
