Two store employees foiled an attempted armed robbery at Keperra on July 2.
Around 7.15pm a man armed with a knife entered a Gilston Street supermarket and demanded cash from a male employee.
The employee grabbed a lump of wood and swung it at the man. A second male employee has then approached from behind and kicked the man.
The offender fell to the ground before jumping up and fleeing on foot.
One of the employees chased the man but lost sight of him in Hurley Street.
No one was injured during the attempted robbery and no property was stolen.
The man is described as aged between 25 and 30, indigenous in appearance with a medium to solid build.
He was wearing a balaclava, black jumper, black pants and black shoes.
