Police have charged a man in relation to fraud offences worth more than $14 million at a horse stud in the Hunter Valley.

Detectives from the Hunter Valley Local Area Command launched an investigation in January this year after being contacted by auditors from the horse stud.

As a result of the investigation, police will allege $14.8 million was defrauded from the property over the past six years.

This morning, police arrested a 51-year-old employee at his home in East Tamworth.

 He has been charged with ten fraud related offences and granted conditional bail to appear atTamworth Local Courton September 12.
