Police are at the Gepps Cross Hotel on Main North Road following a robbery there.
At about 7.15am, an offender entered the hotel allegedly armed with a machete and a hammer and threatened staff.
Two staff members were detained and money was stolen before the offender ran off.
He is described as Caucasian, 20-30 years, 175 cm, 75 kg, skinny build and wearing black jeans, grey shirt, red balaclava and light grey soled dark blue runners.
