Police are investigating the armed robbery of a hotel in Park Avenue, Rockhampton, last night in which two made away with a sum of cash.

Around 11.50pm, two men have entered a hotel on Main Street and threatened staff and customers with a knife and a tomahawk axe while demanding cash.

The two men fled with a quantity of cash handed over from the tills via Haynes Street.

No one was injured during this incident.

One man is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, 178cm tall and of solid build. He was wearing a red hooded jumper, black trousers, a black balaclava and gloves.

The other man is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, 174cm tall and of slim build. He was wearing a black jumper, dark blue trousers and a black balaclava.

Investigations are continuing.
