Police have charged a 33-year-old man following investigations into two recent armed robberies in Mackay.

It is alleged on Monday night, shortly before midnight, a man threatened a convenience store employee with a knife before leaving the store with a sum of cash.

It is further alleged on Tuesday, shortly before 1pm, a man armed with a knife threatened a store attendant and stole a sum of cash from a store on Ungerer Street.

The 33-year-old man has been charged with two counts of armed robbery and is due to appear in the Mackay Magistrates court tomorrow.
