Police are investigating two robberies that occurred in the Elizabeth area overnight.

The first occurred at about midnight, when the 19-year-old victim got off the train at Broadmeadows Railway Station and was approached by a man who demanded his wallet.

The victim was assaulted and had his wallet stolen, before the suspect left on foot with two other men.

The suspect is described as a man of Caucasian appearance, 180cm tall, aged about 20 years, with short black hair, light facial hair and brown eyes.

He was wearing a black shirt, dark blue jeans and white sneakers.

At about 2.30am, a 20-year-old man was walking along Midway Road at Elizabeth East when a man yelled out to him.

The victim started running, but the man caught up and assaulted him before stealing his wallet.

The suspect fled on foot through a nearby reserve.

He is described as Caucasian, 180cm tall, medium build, aged in his mid 20s, blonde hair and wearing a grey hooded jumper.

Elizabeth Police are investigating these robberies, which do not appear to be linked.
