Police are searching for two would-be robbers following an incident in Fairfield yesterday.
Police were called to a jewellery store on Ware Street, about 5.10pm (Wednesday 17 August 2011), following reports of an attempted armed robbery.
Police have been told two men entered the store demanding money from an employee and threatening him with a firearm.
The employee ran from the store and the alleged offenders also fled the scene, empty handed.
The employee did not suffer any injuries and no shots were fired.
Police established a crime scene at the location and a canvass of the area was also conducted, however the men could not be located.
Police continue with their inquiries into the incident and are searching for two men.
The first man is described as being Middle Eastern/Mediterranean in appearance, 30-40 years old, 170-175cm tall and wearing a grey hooded jumper.
The second man is also described as being Middle Eastern/Mediterranean in appearance, 35-40 years old, 165-170cm tall and wearing a black hooded jumper. He was carrying black firearm.
