Police are investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred this morning at Port Adelaide.

Just after 10.30am a man forced his way through the rear door of the Cheap As Chips store on Cannon Street, and ordered two staff members to open the office safe.

The man then fled the store with an amount of cash.

No one was injured, and no weapons were sighted during the robbery.

He is described as being of Mediterranean appearance, between 40 – 50 years of age, olive complexion, collar-length dark brown hair, full trimmed beard, about 170cm tall, 110kg, wearing a green hooded jumper, dark jeans, sunglasses, purple/white gardening gloves, black sneakers with white trim, and he was carrying a black knapsack
