A fourth security guard has been charged over the assault of a man at a hotel in George Street on the weekend.
Strike Force Goldsworthy, comprising detectives from The Rock, and specialist officers from the Central Metropolitan Region, was established to investigate an assault that occurred at the hotel on George Street about 2am on Sunday 28 August 2011.
A 19-year-old man and his friends were ejected from the licensed premises about 1:30am.
They returned to the hotel a short time later and allegedly became involved in a fight with security staff.
The alleged victim was detained by guards and separated from the rest of the group. It will be alleged he was held down, repeatedly kicked, punched and gagged.
He was then allegedly taken to a basement security area where the assault continued.
Police and NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended the scene and the alleged victim was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital suffering severe facial injuries.
Two men, aged 24 and 30, were arrested at the scene and charged with wounding/grievous bodily harm with intent.
On Monday 29 August 2011, a third security officer, aged 42, was charged at Campsie Police Station with wounding/grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Burwood Local Court on Thursday 22 September 2011
About 9:30am yesterday (Wednesday 31 August 2011), police attended the hotel on George Street, Sydney where they arrested a 19-year-old man.
He was taken to Central Police Station and charged with wounding/grievous bodily harm with intent.
The man was given strict conditional bail and will appear in the Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 22 September 2011.
