Police have arrested a key person of interest in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred at Parkside on Friday 2 September. The man negotiated his surrender to police this morning and was arrested at Holden Hill.

The man, 23, has been charged with aggravated robbery, illegal use of a motor vehicle and evading police in a pursuit.

“On Friday evening, there was a series of violent offences that occurred at Parkside and throughout the metropolitan area,” Superintendent Peter Harvey, Officer in Charge of the Organised Crime Investigation Branch said.

“The offences started with an aggravated robbery at Parkside where a vehicle was stolen.”

On that evening and through the following morning police arrested a 16-year-old male from Parafield Gardens and a 20-year-old man from Northfield in relation to the incident.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the community – in particular the local indigenous community for their assistance for bringing this matter to a conclusion,” Superintendent Harvey said.

“They were integral to negotiating the surrender of Shane Wilson, and for that we are grateful.”

“We are still conducting investigation into the incident at Parkside. We still seek outstanding offenders.
