Police investigating the armed robbery of a ‘fast food’ delivery man at Deagon last night have arrested and charged a local teenager.

Around 8pm a 27-year-old Sandgate man attended an address on Racecourse Road. Whilst still sitting in his car he was approached by two male who allegedly threatened him, one of whom intimated that he was armed with a gun, before the pair escaped with a quantity of cash. 

Officers located two males a short time later in the nearby area. They were taken into custody without incident.

The victim did not receive any physical injuries during the incident.

Police have charged a 17-year-old man with armed robbery and possession of a dangerous drug; he is due to appear in the Sandgate Magistrates Court on September 26.

A 16-year-old boy is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Police investigations are continuing.
