September 9, 2011 – Serious Assault – Taxi Driver – Venning St, Mooloolaba

Detectives from Sunshine Coast CIB have charged a man following an alleged incident at Mooloolaba on Thursday morning.

It will be alleged around 3:00am a man threatened a taxi driver on Venning Street with a replica firearm before running away.

No one was injured and no property was stolen.

A 20-year-old Burpengary man has been charged with going armed so as to cause fear and serious assault.  He is expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on September 10 (tomorrow).
