Police are investigating the armed robbery of a shop in Robina last night.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a man entered the store on Town Centre Drive at around 9.40pm and approached two female employees.

The man, who was armed with a syringe, walked behind the counter and demanded money.

The employees complied, and the man left the store with a sum of cash. He was last seen walking in the direction of Robina Town Centre.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as being Caucasian, between 40-50 years of age and 175-180cm tall. He was wearing a hooded jacket.

Police investigations are continuing.
