Police have released CCTV images of a person they wish to speak to in relation to an attempted armed robbery at a service station in the State’s north.
About 7.20pm on Thursday 15 September 2011, a young man entered the service station on the corner of Barker and Centre Streets, Casino armed with a machete.
He allegedly threatened an attendant behind the counter with the machete, demanding money from the register.
The male employee grabbed a broom handle and threatened the man, who ran from the store empty-handed.
Police are hoping to interview a person depicted in CCTV images who may be able to assist with their investigation.
The person is described as 16-20 years old, of Caucasian appearance, 160cm-170cm tall, with a thin build. He is depicted wearing dark coloured hooded jumper, dark tracksuit pants with a white stripe, a light coloured beanie and had his face covered.
He was also carrying a blue draw string style back pack.
