A man and a woman are being treated in hospital after an alleged glassing at a Leichhardt hotel this morning.

Police have been told a man and a woman, both aged 25, were at the hotel on Parramatta Road about 1am when the woman was approached by a another man.

The three became involved in an argument with the older man allegedly using a glass to hit the younger man in the face. The woman attempted to assist her friend and was cut on the arm as the glass shattered.

The couple was treated at the scene by Paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for further treatment.

The woman is likely to need stitches to her arm, while the man appears to have suffered only minor facial cuts.
