Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station at Woodridge earlier today.

Initial investigations indicate two men entered the Kingston Road store around 4.30am and approached the male attendant at the counter.

One man, armed with a firearm demanded money from the employee while the other, armed with a hammer style tool jumped the counter and stole a quantity of cigarettes.

The men fled the store with a quantity of cash and were last seen heading along Kingston Road in a white Holden station wagon fitted with two large circular spot lights on the front of the vehicle.

Both men are described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 175cm tall, with a thin to medium build and are believed to be aged between 15 and 20-years-old.

They were wearing dark coloured hooded jumpers and had their heads covered with clothing concealing their faces from view.

No one was injured during the incident. Investigations are continuing.
