A man has been charged with the robbery of a post office at Quirindi earlier in the week.
About 2:20pm, Monday 21 November 2011, two men entered the post office on George Street where they approached the teller and demanded money.
Police will allege the men indicated to the teller that they had a weapon before they were handed a sum of cash.
The pair allegedly fled the premises in a silver-coloured Holden Commodore which had been reported stolen ten minutes after the robbery.
Detectives attached to Strike Force Grove commenced investigations into the robbery and arrested two men in Phillip Street, Tamworth yesterday afternoon.
Both men, aged 18 and 36, were taken to Tamworth Police Station and interviewed over the robbery.
The 36-year-old man was subsequently charged with demand money with menace and illegal use of motor vehicle and refused bail to appear in Tamworth Local Court today (Wednesday 23 November 2011).
The other man was released without charge pending further investigations.
