A woman will appear in court today after being extradited from Victoria over the alleged attempted armed robbery of a fast food restaurant near Wollongong earlier this month.

Shortly after 9pm on Tuesday 9 November 2011, a woman entered a restaurant on the Princes Highway, Dapto, allegedly armed with a knife.

Police will allege the woman threatened two employees – a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man – and demanded cash.

She fled empty-handed but returned a short time later and again allegedly threatened staff with the knife.

Police were notified and officers attached to Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended and began an investigation into the alleged incident.

Following inquiries, a 27-year-old woman was arrested in Mollongghip, Victoria, on Monday (21 November 2011).

The woman was extradited to NSW yesterday (Wednesday 23 November 2011).

She was taken to Albury Police Station where she was subsequently charged with aggravated assault with intent to rob.

The Coffs Harbour woman was refused bail and will appear at Albury Local Court today (Thursday 24 November 2011).
