A man has been arrested after an alleged “glassing” at a Surry Hills licensed premises today (Sunday 11 December 2011).

 About 6pm, police were called to the hotel on the corner of Cleveland and Crown streets after a hotel employee had been injured while trying to remove a patron from the premises.

 Police have been told the patron was being removed from the hotel due to his level of intoxication.

 During this, it will be alleged the employee had a glass thrown in his face.

 The employee was treated for a cut to his forehead by ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for further medical checks.

 A 56-year-old Chippendale man was arrested at the scene.

He was taken to Surry Hills Police and is assisting police with their inquiries
