Police are appealing for information following an alleged armed robbery in the state’s Central Hunter region. About 12.05am (Sunday 8 January 2012) a man allegedly armed with a knife walked into a business on Wollombi Road, Cessnock. He demanded cash from the 32-year-old male employee before taking an amount of money from the register.
The man then demanded cigarettes, before fleeing on foot. Police attended a short time later and established a crime scene. Maitland Detectives are investigating the incident and wish to speak to a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries. He has been described as clean shaven and wearing a hooded jumper.
