Police are appealing for information following the armed robbery of a video store at Raby last night.

About 8:20pm, Wednesday 11 January 2012, the owner of the video shop on Spitfire Drive was preparing to close when a male entered the store.

Police have been told the male walked through the aisles of the store before approaching the counter.

At the counter the male revealed a handgun hidden underneath his jumper and demanded cash from the shop owner.

He was handed money from the register before walking out of the store.

Police were contacted and attended the scene where they established a crime scene.

A police dog unit also attended the premises but was unable to locate the male offender.

Investigations into the robbery are continuing and police are looking for a male who is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170 – 180cm tall with a thin build and wearing a dark hooded jumper and track pants.
