A police officer is facing court on fraud charges after allegations of falsifying medical certificates to obtain sick leave.

Strike Force Yellowbank was formed to investigate alleged fraudulent leave claims made by the officer during 2009-2010.

About 10am yesterday (Wednesday 11 January 2012), the 27 year-old Probationary Constable who is attached to the North West Metropolitan Region was served a Court Attendance Notice by Strike Force detectives attached to the Professional Standards Command for the offences of Obtain Money by Deception (x2), Obtain Financial benefit by deception (x4), Make False Instrument and Use False Instrument

He is due to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on 5 March 2012.

The Probationary Constable has been suspended without pay.
