Police are appealing for information after a convenience store in Broken Hill was robbed overnight.

 About 10.30pm yesterday (Thursday 26 January 2012), two men entered the Brookfield Avenue mixed business and threatened the 61-year-old male owner with a firearm and demanded money.

 The 61-year-old man was seriously assaulted and suffered cuts and bruises to his head.

 The pair left the store with a quantity of cash.

 The first man, who was carrying a firearm at the time of the robbery, has been described to police as being of large build and of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance. He was last seen wearing dark clothing.

 The second man is of skinny build and was last seen wearing dark clothing. He was also carrying a duffel bag.
