Police are conducting inquiries following an armed robbery of an automotive business at Kempsey last night.
About 9pm (23 May), two men entered the premises on Verge Lane, Kempsey, and threatened the manager with weapons.
The victim handed the men an amount of cash. They then demanded that he give them the keys to his car – a silver-coloured Audi – that was parked outside.
The men escaped in the Audi, which was located a short time later burnt out in bushland near Middleton Street, South Kempsey.
One of the men is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged 20 to 30 years, with a large build and about 183 cm tall.
The other offender is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, with a thin build, and 175 to 180 cm tall.
Noone was injured during the incident.
Police from Mid North Coast Local Area Command were contacted and attended the scene.
A crime scene was secured and examined by forensics officers.
The surrounding area was also canvassed for potential witnesses.
