Police have charged a man following an armed robbery that occurred in Gympie overnight.

It will be alleged that a man has entered theTozer Streetvideo store around 8.45 last night, produced a knife and demanded cash from the attendant.

It will be further alleged that the attendant has complied, and the man has left the store with a sum of cash.

Police have located a man a short time later, and he was taken into custody.

A 25-year-old Gympie man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and two counts of disqualified driving and is due to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on February 13.
