A teenager and two men will face court today following an alleged armed robbery.
About 8.35am yesterday (Thursday 23 February 2012), three masked offenders entered a convenience store on Coulsen Street, Erskineville, allegedly armed with a tyre iron.
At the time there was one customer within the store, and he was allegedly assaulted by one of the offenders before he had his mobile phone taken.
The two other masked offenders allegedly went behind the counter and removed an amount of cigarettes and cash.
All three offenders then fled the scene. They were seen to drive a black Honda Civic from the area.
A crime scene was established and examined by forensic specialists.
Ambulance Paramedics treated the customer, aged 37, at the scene for minor injuries. The store employee, aged 57, was uninjured.
A short time later and following investigations into the incident, police attended a home unit on Binning Street, Erskineville, where they arrested two men and a teenage boy in relation to the incident.
All three were taken to Redfern Police Station where they were charged in relation to the matter.
A 15-year-old boy was refused bail and will appear at Bidura Children’s Court today (Friday 24 February 2012).
Two men, aged 18 and 20, were also refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court today (Friday 24 February 2012).
