Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a convenience store at Alexandra Hills last night.

Around 7.30pm, two men entered the Finucane Road store armed with knives and demanded money from the shop assistant.

A short time later, two customers walked into the store prompting the pair to flee empty handed.

They were last seen walking along Allenby Road.

One man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 168cm tall with a slim build. At the time of the offence, he was wearing a black hoodie and black sunglasses.

The other man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, approximately 174cm tall with a slim build. At the time of the offence, he was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and black sunglasses.

No one was physically injured during the incident.
