Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station that occurred in Rochedale overnight.

Intial information suggests that at around 8.45pm, a female has entered the Miles-Platting Road business and produced a knife.

She has demanded money and cigarettes from the console operator, and the operator has complied and handed the female a sum of cash and cigarettes.

The female has then left the business on foot in an unknown direction.

It is believed that the same female has also attempted to enter a service station on Mount Cotton Road, Mount Cotton at 9.20pm, but was unsuccessful.

No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.

The female is being described as having a slim build and had her face concealed.

She was last seen wearing black jeans, a white hooded jumper that was underneath a black and white jumper and white shoes.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
