Police are appealing for information from the public following the armed robbery at a bowling club in Maitland Park.
About 10.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 3 April 2012), two men entered the club in Maitland Park and demanded a female employee hand over cash.
One man, described as having a thin build and wearing a black hooded jumper with a skeleton print held a hunting knife.
The other man, described as having a thin build and wearing black clothing and a balaclava, held a baseball bat.
An amount of cash was taken from the club.
The female staff member was struck with a baseball bat during the robbery. She was not seriously injured during the incident.
Police from Central Hunter Local Area Command attended the scene a short time later.
A crime scene was established at the club.
